Instructions for using the document
This document lists the possible errors of the platforms, their meaning, and the solution. Many reasons and the solution for the email are already described directly in the error message. Some platforms like Facebook and Instagram provide direct codes for the errors, which allow you to quickly find them in the list.
Explanation: This message appears when a user has changed their password or Meta has ended the session for security reasons. Old connections become invalid so that no unauthorized access is possible anymore.
Recommendation: Please renew the connection once in the profile group menu “Linked platforms”.
Explanation: The app doesn’t have the necessary rights to access the desired content or features. This often happens after changes to the platform settings or when permissions haven’t been confirmed.
Recommendation: Please check all permissions for Lomavis in Facebook (see here: Are permissions for Lomavis set correctly). Also check whether the page is publicly available and not deactivated. If a page is deactivated or not public, this error message will be returned. Afterwards, the connection must be renewed in the profile group menu “Linked platforms”.
Explanation: This message appears when a user has changed their password or Meta has ended the session for security reasons. Old connections become invalid so that no unauthorized access is possible anymore.
Recommendation: Please check for notices or security alerts in the respective platform app. Afterwards, the connection needs to be renewed in the profile group menu “Linked platforms”.
Explanation: This message appears when an Instagram account has been temporarily deactivated, permanently deleted, or restricted by Meta. In such cases, no API actions like posting or fetching data are possible anymore until the account is released or reactivated again.
Recommendation: Please check in the Instagram account whether there are any restrictions or bans. Afterwards, the connection needs to be renewed in the profile group menu “Linked platforms”.
Explanation: This error occurs when an Instagram account is not a Business or Creator profile. Only these types of accounts can be managed via the Meta API, because personal accounts don’t offer interface support for insights or automatic posting.
Recommendation: Please convert the Instagram account into a Business or Creator account. Afterwards, the connection needs to be renewed in the profile group menu “Linked platforms”.
Explanation: This error occurs when the Facebook account doesn’t have the required role permissions for the page (administrator, editor, or moderator). Additionally, Meta requires active two-factor authentication (2FA) for some business accounts. If these conditions aren’t met, access to the page will be blocked.
Recommendation: Please make sure that you have the role of administrator on the relevant Facebook page and that two-factor authentication is enabled. Afterwards, you need to renew the connection in the profile group menu under “Linked platforms”.
Explanation: This message appears when Instagram classifies an activity as suspicious or potentially spammy. Meta then temporarily blocks certain actions to protect the community from abuse. This usually affects automated or frequently repeated posts.
Recommendation: Please check the affected Instagram account directly in the Instagram app. If the content was incorrectly flagged as spam, you can appeal via the app. Afterwards, you need to renew the connection in the profile group menu under “Linked platforms”.
Explanation: Instagram allows a maximum of 25 publications within 24 hours per account via the Content Publishing API. This limit is there to prevent spam and keep the platform stable. When the limit is reached, Meta blocks any further publications.
Recommendation: Please wait 24 hours before publishing new posts. Afterwards you need to renew the connection in the profile group menu “Linked platforms”.
Explanation: Instagram only allows tagging products that are approved and active. One of the tagged products is classified differently by Instagram.
Recommendation: Please check the tagged products in your post, remove the invalid ones and publish the post again.
Explanation: Instagram can’t process the provided media files right now. In general this is due to a temporary interruption in the interface.
Recommendation: Please schedule the post again to complete the publication. If you get the same result again, please try again later.
Explanation: Instagram can’t tag a user or add them as a collab partner to the post because this user doesn’t have a public profile, has set their profile so it can’t be tagged, the username is not correct, or some other restriction applies.
Recommendation:
For direct publishing, the IG account’s settings/behavior need to be adjusted. Until then, a post can only be published without the tag.
Check if the username is correct. To do this, open the Instagram channel in your web browser and see if the tag you’re using matches the Instagram username. You can find the Instagram username in the URL (www.instagram.com/USERNAME).
You’re tagging accounts that have been active for less than 30 days: Make sure you only tag collaboration partners whose Instagram accounts are public and have been active for at least 30 days.
You’re trying to tag a private or age-restricted account. Due to Instagram’s interface limitations, these accounts can’t be tagged.
You’re tagging accounts with more than 2 policy violations:
Instagram can restrict accounts if they’ve violated policies. Collaboration partners may have a maximum of 2 policy violations. The account in question might need to file an appeal with Instagram.
You’re trying to tag more than 3 accounts:
Due to Instagram API limitations, you can tag a maximum of 3 collaboration partners per post (image or video).
Explanation: The video description contains characters or character strings that YouTube doesn’t allow for technical reasons, so it rejects publishing the post. The exact reasons are not disclosed.
Recommendation: Please adjust the post text and try again. The reason can be emojis but also characters like: < > <- ->
